On 5 September 2013, H.E. Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, delivered the Opening Remarks at the “International Enterprise (IE) Singapore – Board of Investment (BOI) Thailand Roundtable” on the cordial economic relations between the two countries, as well as the fundamental strength of the Thai economy, policy orientation on transportation and logistics development in Thailand and the Region, and infrastructure investment opportunities in Thailand. This year’s Roundtable is timely organized in view of the increasing interest of both Thai and Singaporean sectors concerned on transportation and logistics in Thailand in developing and upgrading the infrastructure which helped to facilitate the ASEAN Connectivity in the region. Senior representatives from the Thai authorities and private sector, i.e. the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB), Industrial Estate Authority, and Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) and TCC Group, as well as the Singaporean companies interested in enhancing investment cooperation between Thailand and Singapore in several areas of industry, especially in construction, industrial estate, transport and logistics, finance and business consultancy services. Singaporean private sector that participated in the Roundtable are UOB, Ascendas, Comfort Delgro, Freightlinks, GMAPS, Hock Lian Seng, IMC Shipping, Jurong Port, Kingsland, KTT, Sembcorp, SH Cogent Logistics, SPHere and YCH. They have actively attended the discussion and inquired about law, regulation, and policy on FDI and mega-project investment promotion from the Thai authorities concerned.
