On 27 June 2025, H.E. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed a delegation of professors and students from the National University of Singapore (NUS), currently enrolled in the course “Sustainability in Southeast Asia: Study Trip to Thailand.”
The visit served as part of the students’ academic preparation prior to their field study in Nan Province, aimed at enhancing their understanding of sustainable development issues in the Thai context.
On this occasion, the Ambassador provided a comprehensive briefing on Thailand’s national strategies and policies related to sustainable development, including the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model and the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Royal Initiative Projects guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy were also addressed to showcase Thailand’s deeply-rooted, balanced approach to development, emphasizing the importance of local and historical context in the effective implementation of sustainable practices.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, allowing students to engage and exchanged perspectives on sustainability and other issues directly with the Ambassador.
The Royal Thai Embassy is pleased to contribute to fostering academic exchange and mutual understanding between Thailand and Singapore, particularly among the younger generation, as a foundation for future cooperation in sustainable development.
