Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, delivered speech at the opening ceremony of the Loy Krathong Festival 2024 held at Wat Ananda Metyarama

On November 10 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, delivered speech at the opening ceremony of the Loy Krathong Festival 2024 held at Wat Ananda Metyarama. H.E. Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance, and Second Minister for National Development, attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
 
Ambassador Ureerat emphasised the significance of Loy Krathong festival in strengthening and uniting the Thai community, as well as promoting Thailand’s soft power in Singapore. The Ambassador reaffirmed the Royal Thai Embassy's readiness to continue to support cultural activities initiated by the Thai temples and communities in Singapore.
 
The event featured traditional music performances, the Loy Krathong ceremony, Miss Noppamas beauty contest, and a Thai food fair where attendees could try a variety of Thai food contributed by Thai associations and shops in Singapore.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador participated in the Krathong floating ceremony and greeted Thais and Singaporeans who attended the event including those who set up booths to distribute Thai foods and drinks. Mr. Wutthisak Pathomsart, Minister Counselor (Labour), was assigned by the Ambassador to join the judging panel for the Miss Noppamas beauty contest.
