On 6-7 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed H.E. Mr. Ekanat Promphan, Minister of Industry of Thailand, along with a delegation from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) on their visit to Singapore. The visit aimed to exchange information on industrial waste management, environmental protection, and air pollution control measures.
On this occasion, the Minister of Industry, together with the Ambassador and the delegation, met with Mr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore on 7 February 2025 to discuss policies on industrial waste management, relevant legislation such as the Industrial Waste and Electronic Waste Act, and potential ASEAN and bilateral cooperation to promote sustainable industrial development.
On 6 February 2025, the delegation also met and exchanged policy insights with Mr. Wong Kang Jet, CEO of the National Environment Agency (NEA), to explore collaboration and exchange best practices in the environmental management. Key topics of discussion included tackling air pollution and PM 2.5, industrial and electronic waste management, industrial zoning, and the enforcement of industrial waste management regulations at both national and regional levels.
