On 14 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Charoentoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, officially opened the beautiful "Orchids from the Land of Smiles" exhibition, co-hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore and Gardens by the Bay. The event was graced by H.E. Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development, as Guest of Honour, and Ms. May Yeo, Assistant CEO of Gardens by the Bay, members of Team Thailand in Singapore, esteemed guests from the diplomatic community and various partners in Singapore.
This stunning exhibition is part of a celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore, showcasing the elegance of Thai orchids in a setting inspired by the revered Temple of the Emerald Buddha, symbolizing Thailand’s deep spiritual and artistic heritage.
One highlight of the event was a special performance by the renowned Bangkok Puppet Show from the Aksra Theatre, showcasing a scene from the epic Ramakien, a story of heroism, loyalty and courage. The performance, sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Singapore Office, enriched the beautiful and elegant ambience of the launch.
