Celebration on the promotion of six Thai Buddhist monks in Singapore

On Sunday 13 January 2013, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ambassador Marut Jitpatima was invited to grace over a ceremony at Wat Ananda Metyarama Thai Buddhist Temple to honour six Thai Buddhist monks on the occasion of their appointment and promotion to higher ranks.

The six Buddhist monks, who have been conferred the ranks of “Phrakhru Sanyabat” on the occasion of the 85th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, are :

          1) Phrakhru Palat Lim Hoi Siang, Chief Abbot of Wat Trirattanaramma

          2) Phrakhru Samu Tan Dhammajoto, Chief Abbot of Wat Mongkolratanaram

          3) Phrakhru Baitika Chalermchai Mahaviro, Chief Abbot of Wat Dhammasatis

          4) Phra Palat Paphon Kittitharo, Chief Abbot of Wat Chaimongkol

           5) Phrakhru Vimol Santidhamma, Chief Abbot of Wat Buddhasantitham

           6) Phrakhru Sudhammakhunwatana, Chief Abbot of Wat Dhammakunarama

           During the ceremony, which was attended by about 100 Buddhist monks and devoted laypersons, Ambassador Jitpatima read out the Royal Command and announcement of the Thai Sangha Council on the appointment and promotion of the six senior Thai Buddhist monks in recognition of their devotion and contribution to the promotion of Buddhism in Singapore as well as their roles in various charitable activities both in Thailand and Singapore.
