The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) achieved a resounding success yesterday evening, 17 March 2026, at the historic Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore. The concert, titled "LEGACY: The Next Piano Generation," featured the extraordinary debuts of David Chen and Roman Blagojevic, grandsons of the legendary Martha Argerich, under the baton of maestro Dario Ntaca.
The evening was graced by the presence of Mrs. Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, who attended to show her support for the musicians. Mrs. Chonlatee praised the orchestra for its role as a cultural ambassador, noting that such performances strengthen the ties between Thailand and the international community through the universal language of music.
A key highlight of this international venture is the partnership between the TPO, the College of Music, Mahidol University, Thai Air Asia and 54 Entertainment. This collaboration underscores a shared vision to elevate Thai musical talents to the global stage. By providing a platform for world-class collaboration, the partnership demonstrates the high caliber of Thai orchestral standards and its readiness to compete in the global arts arena.
The program moved the audience with a diverse repertoire, ranging from the intricate brilliance of Bach to the thunderous passion of Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto. The resounding applause at the conclusion of the night signaled a triumphant milestone for Thai classical music on the international circuit.
