Flag off ceremony for Porsche club Singapore's "drive of the year to Chiangmai 2013" at the Royal Thai Embassy

On 9 November 2013, Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand, presided over the flag off ceremony of “Drive of the Year to Chiang Mai 2013” by Porsche Club Singapore, supported by Tourism Authority of Thailand, Office in Singapore. Thirty Porsche cars lined up at the Royal Thai Embassy for the flag off event as they will be driving from Singapore to Thailand through Malaysia from 19-28 November 2013.

In his welcome speech, Ambassador Marut expressed his appreciation for Porsche Club Singapore’s continued trips to Thailand with the support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Office in Singapore. Driving holidays to Thailand is a project initiated by Tourism Authority of Thailand to encourage motorists to utilise the Asian Highway networks for travel to Malaysia and Thailand in order to promote intra-regional tourism and cultural exchanges. In reply, Mr. Howard Tan, President of Porsche Club Singapore, expressed his appreciation to the Royal Thai Embassy for its warm hospitality and support. Following the opening ceremony, Ambassador Marut and TAT Singapore’s Office Director, together with Mr. Howard Tan, flagged off the convoy as the Porsche cars departed the Embassy.
