On 2 February 2023, H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, presided over the reception on the occasion of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day, organised by the Office of the Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of Thailand at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

Ambassador Gongsakdi reiterated the role of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in maintaining national security and promoting national development and expressed appreciation for the close and cordial ties between the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Singapore Armed Forces, through excellent multilateral and bilateral cooperation frameworks. Such cooperation has become a strong foundation of people-to-people ties and cordial relations between the two countries.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy was honoured to have Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong, Chief of Defence Force of Singapore as the Guest of Honour. About 150 representatives from MINDEF, Singapore Armed Forces, foreign Defence Attachés and Team Thailand attended the event.

 

The Royal Thai Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually on 18 January to commemorate the bravery and sacrifices of our ancestors and armed forces in protecting the Thai nation.
