On Sunday 22 June 2014 at 14.00 – 18.00 hrs, the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, in cooperation with Thai Association (Singapore), hosted a workshop on “Family Laws for Thais in Singapore”for the first time at the Royal Thai Embassy, Orchard Road.Mrs. JirapornJitpatima, Madam of H.E. Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, delivered the opening remarks for the workshop. Theworkshop was divided into two sessions: (1) Briefing on Singapore family laws by Mr. Justin Koh, Associate General Counsel Legal, and on Thai family laws in relation with Singapore’s by Mrs. Pachara L. Janes, First Secretary, the Royal Thai Embassy, including issues on land ownership and dual nationalitiy; (2) Q&A session, in which Mr. Justin Koh was joined by Mr. Amolat Singh, a special guest and expert in family laws, as well as officers of the Royal Thai Embassy, specialized in legal matters. The workshop was very successful as there were 70 people attending the event, and the Q&A session continued for more than two hours.
