On Wednesday 16 August 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, organised a Mobile Consular Unit at Simpang Lodge II for Thai workers and to check on the living conditions of Thai workers residing in this dormitory.
Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Minister of Royal Thai Embassy together with officers from Royal Thai Embassy provided advices and consultation on consular services to the Thai workers. The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Labour Affairs, Singapore. Simple blood measurement was also conducted for the Thai labour as medical precaution measure. Approximately 60 Thai workers participated in this activity. At the beginning of the month, there was a news report on one foreign worker living in this dormitory passed away due to diphtheria. From this visit, the Embassy has seen that Thai labours residing in this camp are healthy and do not show any sign of diphtheria symptom.
