On 2 May 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, presented financial supports of SGD 1,000 to the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME) and SGD 500 to the Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (ACMI), charitable organisations that provide assistance to Thai citizens in Singapore.

As an independent organisation based in Singapore that provide assistance to victims of human trafficking as well as foreigners in need of legal assistance in Singapore, HOME has regularly provided support to Thai citizens in Singapore, by providing pro bono lawyers and accommodation to those in need. HOME also regularly organises free HIV/AIDS detection programme free of charge to Thai women at Golden Mile Complex.

The charitable organisation supported by the church, ACMI, also provides general and legal assistance to Thai citizens in need, especially Thai women facing domestic problems with a Singaporean husband. This year, ACMI will provide a training course, starting in August, which is exclusively designed to assist Thai women living with a Singaporean husband to be familiarised with Singapore’s culture.
