The Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, organised the THAI FESTIVAL 2015 in Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Thailand-Singapore Diplomatic Relations on 3-6 September 2015 at the premises of the Royal Thai Embassy on Orchard Road. The official opening ceremony, which took place on 3 September 2015 at 18.00 hrs, was presided by H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, and graced by the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Peter Tan, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. It was also joined by ambassadors and honourable guests from diplomatic missions, high-level officials from the Singapore government, as well as representatives from the business sector in Singapore. 

The Thai Festival 2015 was the 13th Thai Festival in Singapore. It was participated by 73 exhibitors from Thailand with a variety of products, including ready-made food, Thai desserts and snacks, curry paste, fresh and dried Thai fruits, rice, spa products, textile and garment, jewelry and leather wear. It was also joined by Thai restaurants, and Thai cultural and “Muay Thai” performances by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore), as well as impressive performances by the Bangkok Mini Groovy Band, with a mixture of Thai “khim” and Western musical instruments. A variety of activities was also held during the Thai Festival 2015, including Thai cooking demonstration by Chef of the Ambassador’s Residence, free photo souvenir printing for Instagram photos with hashtag #ThaiFestSG, which was overwhelmed with over 2,000 participants. Customers who purchased over S$20 also stood a chance to win Lucky Draw prizes including the Grand Prize of Thai Airways return tickets from Singapore – Bangkok. The Thai Festival 2015 was joined by over 20,000 participants throughout the 4 days of the event.
