NON-IMMIGRANT VISA O-A (LONG STAY/RETIREMENT)
Non-Immigrant Visa Category O-A (Long Stay/Retirement)
Purpose of Visit: This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and above who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 1 year without the intention of working. Holder of this type of visa is allowed to stay in Thailand for 1 year. Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Note: Non-Immigrant Visa-O-A (Long Stay/Retirement) will only be granted by the Royal Thai Embassy Singapore to Singapore citizen and Singapore Permanent Resident.
**IMPORTANT** Complete the E-Visa Application at least 21 working days before the intended date of travel

Note: All nationals which don’t have a “Family name” must fill in the entire name in the “First name” box in the e-Visa application form and leave “Family name” box blank. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your e-Visa application.
-Eligibility-
1. Applicant must be aged 50 years and over (on the day of submitting application)
2. Applicant does not have a criminal record in Thailand and the country of the applicant’s nationality or residence
3. Applicant must have a nationality or residence in the country where the visa application is submitted
4. Applicant does not have prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535
Required documents :
1. Singapore Indentification Card and Singapore Re-Entry Permit Form 7 (for Singapore Permanent Resident)
2. A passport valid for no less than one year and half.
3. Summary of the applicant’s personal data (CV/Resume)
4. A letter from the bank verifying the amount of deposit in the bank account of no less than 800,000 Baht (or equivalent).
5. A Letter of verification stating that the applicant has no criminal record issued from the country of his/her nationality or residence. Such verification must be valid for no more than 3 months.
6. A medical certificate showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14(B.E. 2535) certificate shall be valid for not more than three months Click here
7. Additional health insurance requirement for Non-Immigrant O-A as follows;
Health Insurance issued by a Thai or foreign insurer for general illnesses, including COVID-19, with the insured sum of no less than 100,000 USD or 3,000,000 THB
This Health insurance policy document which is issued by a Thai or foreign insurance company, should states that the applicant is medically insured for the period of at least 1 year and with coverage amount as mentioned above;
(a) In case of a Thai insurance company, the applicant must submit 1 copy of the insurance policy document. A list of Thai insurance companies participating in the scheme can be found here: http://longstay.tgia.org
(b) In case of a foreign insurance company, the applicant must submit 1 copy of the insurance policy document together with the Foreign Insurance Certificate as stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and Health Insurance of Thailand. The Foreign Insurance Certificate must be completed, signed and stamped by the insurance company. The form can be downloaded below
8. Flight ticket to Thailand
9. A copy of bank saving account to show the amount of another 800,000 Baht (or equivalent) in addition to the applicant’s initial amount).
Dependents of holders of O-A
In the case that the applicant wishes to have his/her spouse staying together in the Kingdom but the spouse is not qualified for the O-A category visa on his or her own capacity, the legally married spouse is eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant O visa.

- The same required documents as for Non-Immigrant O-A-visa
Plus: Documents showing family relations
- Marriage certificate in foreign language to be translated in to English.
- The documents issued by Non- Thai and Non- Singaporean MUST be certified by its Embassy prior to submission.
*Civil partnership certificate is not acceptable.
All documents: Documents in languages other than Thai or English have to be translated into either Thai or English and notarised by notary organs or relevant diplomatic/consular missions.
Note: Consular officers reserve the right to require additional documents or an interview as deemed necessary without prior notice.
Recommendations for the Alien While Staying in the Kingdom:
In order to report to the competent authority by mail, the alien shall do as follows: The Report Form (referred to in Thai as Tor Mor 47) together with a copy of the passport pages showing the alien’s photograph, personal details, and the latest arrival visa stamp as well as a self-addressed envelope with postage affixed, shall be forwarded, by 7 days before the due date, by acknowledgement of receipt mail to the Immigration Bureau, Sathon Tai Road, Sathon District, Bangkok 10120. In the case of conducting any following reports, the Reply Form for the previous Report shall be enclosed as well. |
