On Sunday 18 August 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, chaired the event to promote the quality of life for Thai community in Singapore through better financial planning and public health welfare. The event was organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with the Office of Labour Affairs in Singapore. During the event, there were 3 presentations on (1) benefits of saving for retirement with the Thailand National Savings Fund (NSF) by Ms. Charulak Ruangsuwan, Secretary-General of the NSF (2) free telemedicine services for overseas Thai people by Dr. Atthaporn Limpanyalert, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Health Security Office (NHSO) and (3) Thailand’s social security scheme and Thai workers’ rights in Singapore by Mr. Wutthisak Pathomsart, Minister and Counsellor (Labour).
There were around 100 participants to the event and majority of them were members of the Thai Labour Volunteer Group in Singapore. On this occasion, the Ambassador, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided financial support to the Group and certificates of 2024 Consular Volunteers to two of the Group’s members to acknowledge their active contributions to the Thai community in Singapore.
