On 21 August 2024, Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EEC), and H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, attended the World Opportunities Forum 2024 at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, in which the Royal Thai Embassy invited the EEC Secretary General to speak at the event. The World Opportunities Forum was organized by Sun Media Pte Ltd. The Forum brings together diplomats, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to discuss trade, investment, business trends, and regional and global challenges. Around 100 representatives from government and private sectors attended the Forum.
Dr. Sukmanop participated as a panellist in the session titled "Investment Opportunities in India and ASEAN" where he highlighted the EEC's sustainable investment opportunities in Thailand. He focused on three strategic industrial provinces—Chonburi, Chachoengsao, and Rayong—which are targeting key industries such as medical and health, digital technology, next-generation automotive, BCG, and services. These areas are designed to foster local inclusion while offering extra investment benefits from other regions in Thailand.
