On 14 May 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore, upon her assumption of duty.
Both sides expressed appreciation for their cooperation in ensuring that Thai workers in Singapore are well cared and supported through joint activities. They also discussed ways to attract more skilled Thai workers with in-demand expertise to work in Singapore. They agreed to cooperate and share best practices in reskilling their workers to align with future societal and economic trends, particularly through the SkillsFuture initiative.
Both sides also exchanged views on other issues, including the exchange of high-level visits, Singapore's chairmanship of the ASEAN Energy Ministers' Meeting, and the promotion of energy security through regional cooperation.
