On 2 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed Mr. Vijay D. Chafekar, Director of the Information Sharing Centre under the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP ISC), on the occasion of his introductory visit following his recent assumption of duty. Captain Thammarat Thiepthiam, Assistant Naval Attaché and Acting Assistant Defence Attaché of Thailand to Singapore, also participated in the meeting.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance the role of ReCAAP, particularly in the current context where the world is facing emerging challenges. Discussions also covered Thailand’s contribution of a national representative to serve at ReCAAP ISC, as well as organization of capacity-building activities to strengthen maritime security.
