On 12 and 13 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed the Senate Standing Committee on Research and Development, led by Mr. Boonsong Noisophon, Second Vice President of the Senate and Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Research and Development, and the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Boonchan Nuansai, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice, respectively, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore. The two committees visited Singapore to study and exchange best practices on research and innovation development, as well as the prevention and suppression of cybercrime and drug-related offenses.
On this occasion, the Ambassador provided a briefing on Singapore’s political, social, and economic landscape and exchanged views with the committees on relevant issues including Singapore’s approach to promoting research and development, measures to prevent and combat cybercrime and online fraud through public-private cooperation, and the country’s comprehensive strategy for addressing drug-related issues.
