On 30 April 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed a delegation from the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI), led by Ms. Jullada Meechul, Director of TPQI, during their visit to Singapore.

 

The delegation briefed the Ambassador on TPQI’s mission and responsibilities, with particular emphasis on the certification of Thai professional standards. They also highlighted TPQI’s initiative to convert work experience gained in Singapore into recognised professional qualifications. This initiative is expected to significantly benefit Thai workers in Singapore who plan to return for employment in Thailand.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador proposed that TPQI organise a briefing for Thai workers in Singapore to raise awareness of the initiative. She also encouraged TPQI to advocate the recognition of Thai professional standards, especially in the fields of massage and culinary arts, by Singaporean authorities. Such recognition would be helpful in reducing the time and financial burden caused by local qualification exams.
