On 28 May 2013, Mr.Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed the Delegation from the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion, Kasetsart University, Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus, and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Areas of Jewelry and Decorations, Food Products and Textile from Thailand at the Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore. Ms.Phasporn Sangasubana, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, and Mr. Chaiporn Visuthiranon, Managing Director, Eastwest Chemical Pte Ltd. joined the Thai Ambassador in giving the briefings on the “Trade and Investment Opportunities in Singapore for Thai Businesspersons”. The said Thai Delegation visited Singapore under the Project of Promoting the Readiness of Thai Business for the ASEAN Economic Community”

The Thai Ambassador gave assurances to the Thai private sector in doing business in Singapore in having them to be confident in their own potential to compete in the markets abroad, to develop and upgrade the quality of products as well as to add innovation to the products and adapt the products to accommodate the consumers in Singapore. Thai private sector, significantly the SMEs, needed to thoroughly study and obtain insight information on the market and understand the internal regulations. The Thai government agencies such as the Provincial Commercial Offices, Thai Trade Office in Singapore, together with the Royal Thai Embassy, could assist them in their business endeavours.
