On 26 July 2013, the Delegation from the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry of Thailand, and the Association of QC Headquarters of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Mr.Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, at the Royal Thai Embassy, during their stay in Singapore to attend “Thai Trade Show 2013” organized by Thai Trade Center, Singapore, on 24-28 July 2013 at the Suntec City Convention Center.

The Thai Delegation reported to the Ambassador of Thailand on the current endeavours of the Thai public sector and Thai entrepreneurs, especially those who are SMEs, to work together in upgrading capability to venture into markets abroad as well as in improving the quality of the products to accommodate the needs and interests of the markets. The upcoming ASEAN Community provides as a catalyst in expediting this efforts in a more vigorous and systematic manner. In this light, Ambassador of Thailand assured that such efforts would benefit Thailand and was of the view that, in view of the fact that Singapore is a regional net food importer and Thai food products are in high demand in the Singaporean market, Thai entrepreneurs, especially those who are SMEs, must know the Singaporean consumers and improve the quality and the packaging of the products from Thailand. The Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and Provincial Commercial Offices can facilitate information of the markets abroad. The Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Trade Center in Singapore can assist Thai entrepreneurs with appropriate recommendations and information as well as arrange business matchmaking with Singapore’s importers.
