Royal Thai Embassy visited Thai worker's dormitories in Singapore

The Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, attaches importance to the well-being and welfare of Thais in Singapore, including Thai labours. As one of the consular activities of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Labour Affairs, Mr. Nipon Petchpornprapas, Minister Counselor, and Mrs. Thanaporn Siritemkul, Minister Counselor (Labour Affairs), in cooperation with Thai Labour’s Volunteers, paid monthly visits to Thai workers at Simpang Lodge One Dormitory on 18 July 2013 and at Scal Kim Chuan Dormitory on 22 August 2013, between 20.00 – 22.00 hrs. Around 50 and 100 Thai workers joined the activities, respectively.

On this occasion, the team provided the workers with consular service information, sports equipment, blood pressure check-up, and consultation service on workers’ rights, laws and regulations in Singapore, and how to stay healthy, as during the event, roughly 25% of the workers were detected to have high blood pressure.
