On 28 January 2016, H.E. Mr. Thongchai Chasawath presented to H.E. Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore, the Letter of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Singapore. Ambassador Chasawath was accompanied by Mrs. Norawan Chasawath, his spouse, Captain Anupong Taprasob, RTN, Defence and Naval Attaché, and Ms. Kasama Suebwises, Minister Counsellor, the Royal Thai Embassy. 

After the Presentation of Credentials Ceremony at Istana, President Tan and Ambassador Chasawath exchanged views on the existing close and cordial relations between Thailand and Singapore in all aspects, especially in terms of economics, trade and investment, and cooperation under the ASEAN framework. Ambassador Chasawath expressed his gratitude to the Singaporean Government for the honour and the warm hospitality extended to him, and emphasised his readiness to cooperate with all sides to further enhance and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
