Celebration on the promotion of a Thai Buddhist monk in Singapore

On Sunday 12 January 2014, from 3.15 pm. to 4 pm., Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, was invited to grace over a ceremony at Wat Ananda Metyarama, Thai Buddhist Temple, to honour Phrapalat Anandhakhun, chief abbot of Wat Pornchaiyarama, who has been promoted to the rank of “Phrakhru Adulchayakij ” on the occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Birthday Anniversary on 5 December 2013. During the ceremony, which was attended by about 50 Buddhist monks and devoted laypersons, Ambassador Jitpatima read out the Royal Command on the said promotion, in recognition of Phrapalat Anandhakhun’s devotion and contribution to the promotion of Buddhism in Singapore as well as his role in various charitable activities both in Thailand and Singapore.
