On June 7, 2013 from 11:00 to 15:30 hrs, Mrs. Jiraporn Jitpatima, Madame of the Thai Ambassador to Singapore, led a group of Thai women in Singapore, with the support of Royal Thai Embassy, to organize a Charity Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Residence. The main objective was to raise fund for Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) of Singapore. The guests, who were ladies from various groups of the high society in Singapore, attended the event and donated SGD120.00 each for the above-mentioned purpose.

In her welcome speech, Mrs. Jiraporn expressed her thanks and appreciation to everyone who took the time to attend the event as well as their donations. She explained that besides fund raising, it is the priority of the Royal Thai Embassy to promote the Royal Thai Government’s “Kitchen of the World Policy” and to increase awareness and appreciation of the Thai products, such as jewelry and fashion design, in Singapore.

The activities in this event were divided into 3 parts. First was the dance performed by a girl who has been a survivor from cancer under the care of CCF, which was followed by the Fashion Show presented by 10 models in the clothings of 2 famous brands in Thailand, namely Fly Now and Chai Gold-Label. Models were Thai volunteers, including wives and family member of Embassy’s staff and business persons and embassy’s local staff. Second part was a buffet lunch of Thai cuisine which was greatly appreciated by those attended, which followed the fashion show. Last was the shopping at the stalls of jewelry, handicrafts and donated Singaporean casual shoes. Money from the sale has been donated to CCF. The event’s another highlight has been the fortunetelling from a well-known fortune teller of Thailand.

This event was well appreciated by all guests especially on its well organized and preparedness, as well as on the Fashion Show and Thai cuisine. It also reflected the concerted efforts of the Thai ladies in Singapore towards the charity to help the children in need with cancer.
