On 18 April 2024 Mr. Krishnaswamy Natarajan, Executive Director, Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) Information Sharing Centre (ISC) paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, to congratulate her upon the assumption of her duty.
On this occasion, both sides exchanged views and information on the latest developments on piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia, which continue to pose threats to maritime security and prosperity in the region. They also discussed the cooperation between Thailand and ReCAAP ISC, where the Royal Thai Navy is the national focal point.
ReCAAP ISC plays an active role in combating piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia through information sharing and capacity building initiatives. Currently, ReCAAP has 21 Member States. Thailand has become a Member since 2006.
