General Ukris Boontanondha, Chief of Defence Forces of Thailand and his delegation paid an official visit to Singapore from 13 to 15 January 2026. Upon their arrival, the delegation was welcomed by Mrs. Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Chargé d’Affaires a.i.. who subsequently participated in the meeting between General Ugris and Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Singapore's Minister for Defence, on 15 January 2026.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regional security and discussed avenues for closer military cooperation. They reaffirmed the strong and longstanding defence relationship highlighted by successful joint exercises, specialized training, and various capacity-building initiatives. Furthermore, both parties pledged their support for joint exercises among ASEAN member states to enhance regional capabilities and bolster unity across the Southeast Asian region.
