On 18 August 2026, H.E. Mrs. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, attended a dinner commemorating the 59th Anniversary of the founding of ASEAN at the Embassy of the Philippines in Singapore. The dinner was hosted by H.E. Mr. Medardo G. Macaraig, Ambassador of the Philippines to Singapore, with Mr. Albert Chua, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, as the Guest of Honour.

 

The event was held on the occasion of the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026 and provided an opportunity for representatives of ASEAN Member States in Singapore to engage with representatives of ASEAN Dialogue Partners and Sectoral Dialogue Partners. The Philippine Ambassador and Singapore’s Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of ASEAN unity and solidarity, as well as close cooperation between ASEAN and its partners in addressing regional and global challenges and in promoting peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
