On 5 April 2024, Mr. Roney Tan, the great grandnephew of Mr. Tan Kim Ching, the first Consul of Siam in Singapore, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore.

Ambassador Ureerat reiterated the longstanding, close and cordial relations between Thailand and Singapore and expressed her appreciation for the friendship that the Tan Family extended to Thailand over the past century. Both sides also exchanged views and shared information on the history of the Royal Thai Embassy on Orchard Road, as well as discussed possible collaboration to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore in 2025.
