On 12 July 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, graced the opening ceremony as the Guest-of-Honour of the Phuket Food Festival “A Taste of Phuket” at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.

In her opening remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the role of Thai cuisine in connecting Thai culture with people around the world and the Peranakan influence on such vibrant and delicious cuisines. She also congratulated Chef Sathaporn Boonmeechai from Noku Phuket, who was presenting the authentic flavors of Phuket in Singapore. Guests were also enchanted by a "Tarikipas" dance, a performance by the Thai Dance Society, showcasing the rich culture of Southern Thailand.
