On 14 October 2013, H.E. Mr. Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Thailand, co-chaired the 3rd Singapore – Thailand Enhanced Economic Relationship (STEER) Meeting in Singapore, with H.E. Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, to enhance closer biliateral economic, trade and investment cooperation in the fields of mutual interest. The Meeting was presided by H.E. Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore. On this occasion, the two sides discussed the utilization of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in increasing cooperation in cruise tourism development, production technology and marketing strategies in the animation industry, more livestock imports from Thailand, and trade facilitation to enhance business competitiveness. The Singapore side also expressed its interest in participating in the infrastructure development projects in Thailand.
