“Unveiling the Thai Film Festival in Singapore: Celebrating 60 Years of Thai-Singapore Ties with the Spellbinding "Red Envelop"
On 17 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, in collaboration with GDH and Golden Village Pictures, launched the Thai Film Festival with the grand premiere of the film "Red Envelop" at Golden Village, Suntec City. The event was attended by over 300 distinguished guests from government, private sectors, media, and the general public. The premiere was also graced by the presence of Mr. Chayanop Boonprakob, the film's director, who travelled to Singapore for the occasion.
On this occasion, H.E. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, highlighted the significance of public diplomacy as a bridge for connecting people and societies from different cultures. This film screening aimed to enhance understanding of Thai identity and values through cinema, as part of proactive economic diplomacy to promote "Soft Power" to drive Thailand’s economic growth. It also marked the commencement of the Thai Film Festival in Singapore from 17-20 April 2025 at GV Suntec City. Adding vibrancy and enjoyment to the event, the Royal Thai Embassy organized a "Lucky Red Envelope Draw" for all registered attendees. Lucky winners received special souvenirs from the film's production team, creating excitement and smiles among the participants.
