Step 2: Prepare Documents
Remark : Applicants do not have to bring their own photos. Applicants need to take pictures and finger print manually at Consular Section.
Processing time: 4-6 weeks, after the day the applicant has submitted the documents and has the photograph taken. Don't have express service. Passport is processing at Passport Division In Thailand and send to Thai Embassy in Singapore.
1. General Requirement (20 years old and above)

*Note:
- A Thai national who has already been issued a Thai National ID Card, but the card is expired or lost, can re-apply for a Thai National ID Card at the Royal Thai Embassy. Click here for the information.
- In case the applicant does not have the original Thai National ID card, the relative or acquaintance must send the card to the applicant before making an appointment for renewal of passport. Passport applications can not be accepted in all cases if there is no personal original Thai ID card.
- Important : If the applicant's Thai ID card is expired and the applicant prefers to make the card renewal along with the passport, please make an appointment to choose a slot in the morning only.
- For Thai nationals born outside the Kingdom of Thailand before April 2020 and having a Thai birth certificate issued by the Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate-General, please complete the residence registration with Thai local authorities (District Office). The applicants must have a Thai house book (blue book) and 13-digit Thai national ID before applying for renewal of their Thai passport.
- For Thai nationals adults 20 years old and above who have never made a Thai ID card before. The applicants cannot renew their passports at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore. The applicants need to go back to Thailand to do the Thai ID first before renewing their passport.
- If the current passport has expired, the applicants can submit an Emergency document to go back to Thailand.
2. Minors (15-20 years old)
- The original of applicant’s current passport
- The original of applicant’s valid Thai Identification Card
- The original OR a copy of applicant’s house registration
- The original of applicant’s father and mother valid Thai Identification Card and Parent's Passport (passport must have, if any of them is a foreigner)
- Both parents of the minor needs to must sign, in person, to give consent for their minor to travel overseas and to take full liability for their minor, with Thai National ID Cards and Passport of both parents produced (in case of a foreign parent, passport is required). In case any or both parents cannot be present, (a) Letter(s) of Consent, certified by the Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Consulate-General, or any District Office (together with copies of parents’ Thai ID cards), will be required.

3. Minors (below 15 years old)
- The original OR a copy of applicant’s Birth certificate issued by Thai government
Important : (For Thai nationals born outside the Kingdom of Thailand before April 2020 and having a Thai birth certificate issued by the Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate-General, please complete the residence registration with Thai local authorities (District Office). The applicants must have a Thai house book (blue book) and 13-digit Thai national ID before applying for renewal of their Thai passport.)
- The original of applicant’s valid Thai Identification Card
- The original OR a copy of applicant’s house registration
- The original of applicant’s father and mother valid Thai Identification Card and Parent's Passport (passport must have, if any of them is a foreigner)
- Both parents need to be physically present and sign the form in front of the consular officer**
- Both parents of the minor needs to must sign, in person, to give consent for their minor to travel overseas and to take full liability for their minor, with Thai National ID Cards and Passport of both parents produced (in case of a foreign parent, passport is required). In case any or both parents cannot be present, (a) Letter(s) of Consent, certified by the Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Consulate-General, or any District Office (together with copies of parents’ Thai ID cards), will be required.
- Where neither of the parents of a minor under 15 years old cannot be present during the passport application process, either parent can authorise, in a form of the power of attorney certified by the Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Consulate-General, or any District Office, another person (an adult over 20 years old) to accompany the minor. Thai National ID of the authorised person is required.

- Certificate of Personal Name Change
- If any documents are in non-Thai language, they need to be verified by the according foreign embassy and/or by the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), followed by a verification from The Royal Thai Embassy
**Note:
- In other circumstances
- Unmarried parents: The mother alone can give consent provided that “Por Kor” 14, which indicates the applicant’s custodian is produced, along with the mother’s Thai National ID card
- In case of divorce: Father or mother alone, whichever party is received sole custody of the applicant according to the divorce document, can give consent, together with the Thai National ID card produced
- In case of adoption: The adopter can give consent, together with the Adoption Registration and Thai National ID Card of the adopter produced
- In case either parent passed away: the other parent can give consent, together with the Thai National ID Card of the other parent and the Death Certificate
- In other cases: the court order which indicates the person granted sole custody of the applicant must be produced, e.g. where both parents passed away.
4. Buddhist Monks
- The original of applicant’s current passport
- The original OR a copy of house registration or temple registration
- The original OR a copy of the approval letter from the Sangha Supreme Council, Office of National Buddhism, which need the approval from Ministry of Foreign Affairs before a renewal of Thai passport)
- The original OR a copy of Identity Booklet for a Buddhist Monk
