On 5 March 2013, Mr.Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, accompanied by Ms.Phasporn Sangasubana, Minister, attended “Thailand’s MICE Roadshow in Singapore 2013”, together with Heads of Offices in Team Thailand in Singapore, namely, Thai Trade Center, Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International. This event is organized by Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau with the objective in further promoting Thailand as the destination for conventions and exhibitions for Singaporean business community. 

Ambassador of Thailand, as the Guest of Honour, delivered the welcome remarks to more than 80 participants from Singaporean MICE and tourism industry. He reiterated the main reasons for Singaporeans to travel to Thailand to organize events such as meetings, conventions and exhibitions. He touched upon the excellence of personnel in MICE industry in Thailand, the centrality of geographical location as well as the vitality in terms of economic growth and development of cities in Thailand. In addition, Ambassador of Thailand presented the lucky draw prizes, supported by Thai Airways International, Singapore, to the lucky MICE businesspersons attended the event. 

Singapore is the strategic country for Thailand in terms of MICE industry. In 2012, there were 36,000 Singaporeans and Expats in Singapore that organized their meeting and exhibition events in Thailand, ranking Singapore as number five in the global MICE visitors to Thailand.
