Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore Welcomes Minister of Education and the Thai Delegation at the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting

From 21–23 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Minister of Education of Thailand, who led the Thai delegation to the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting (ASED 14) in Singapore. The Embassy also provided facilitation and logistical support to the Thai delegation throughout the meeting.

 

The ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting is convened biennially to set the strategic direction for regional cooperation in education. Thailand will assume the chairmanship and host the next series of ASEAN education meetings during 2026–2027.

 

At this meeting, the Ministers endorsed the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030 (AWPE), which will guide regional cooperation across six priority areas: early childhood education, basic education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), higher education, education policy, governance and quality assurance, and cooperation with ASEAN's external partners. Member States were also tasked with developing implementation plans, indicators, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the effective implementation of the Work Plan across the region.
