Royal Thai Embassy Opens Its Doors for Songkran 2025 Celebration!

On 30 March 2025, between 3-7 PM, the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore welcomed the Thai community, Singaporean friends, and Songkran enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate Thailand’s traditional New Year, which has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.

In her opening remarks, H.E. Ureerat Charoentoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, warmly welcomed everyone to the historic Embassy's grounds and underscored Songkran's significance which is more than just a water festival but a time of love, family reunions, paying respect to elders, and strengthening communal bonds.

This year’s celebration holds even greater significance as we mark the 60th anniversary of Thailand-Singapore diplomatic relations.

The Ambassador also thanked various partners, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand - Singapore Office, Thai Association Singapore, Samakkhi Thai Club, and the Thai Labour Volunteer Group for their collaborations, as well as the support of the ThaiBev (Chang Beer).

Beyond the water festivities, over 4,000 participants witnessed a rich showcase of Thai cultural performances, including Wai Kru Ram Muay, long drum performances, and contemporary Thai music. They also enjoyed a variety of delightful and authentic Thai dishes.
