On 21 June 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, led officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, along with officials, staff of Team Thailand, the Thai Association (Singapore) and members of the Thai community in Singapore, in a tree-planting activity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, 28 July 2024. The event was organised in collaboration with the National Parks Board of Singapore at the Bedok Reservoir Park.
Mr. Loy Hui Chien, Director-General of the Southeast Asia II Directorate, joined the activity as the guest of honour. A total of 72 Wild Rose Apple trees (Syzygium pycnanthum) were planted in the Bedok Reservoir Park to honour His Majesty the King on this auspicious occasion.
This volunteer activity also aligns with the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and is part of the One Million Trees campaign, which aims to increase green spaces in Singapore by planting over one million trees by 2030.
